Without the conversion charts, 540 pto rpm is the only place that you can take a hp reading off the gauge to be accurate. HP is a funtion of rpm and torque. The dyno gauge is setup to read at 540 rpm. Any change in rpm will result in less than accurate readings because the rpm part of the equation has not been compensated for.

You should be able to get your hands on the M&W conversion wheel or charts still.

You can draw it down as far as you want to. You need to remember not to run it no more than 180 degrees or it can damage the pump. Make sure it has clean hydrolic fluid in it also. Anytime you draw the rpms down below 535 you need to read the pressure scale and use a conversion wheel to figure your horsepower. I think if you was to contact M&W you could still get a operators manual. I know parts are available through them.

i have one at my shop, a 260 HP model. i just pull it down to 540 rpm, adjust the balance knob so the needle steadies out, and read the horsepower. factory ratings are based on 540 pto rpm's, so i figure any increases by the same guidelines.

I do not know if this is the correct forum to place this notice. But my shop burned to the ground last year and I lost my M&W Dyno. I would like to replace it. Any leads or information would be helpful. My phone number is 585-343-1854 or (cell) 585-944-2461. Thank you for any help.
