I am looking for some 18x34 rims to fit a John Deere 80 or 820. Does anybody know of a manufacturer for these? My usual supplier says that nobody he deals with makes this type of rim. Are there any other makes of tractor that used a similar rim? I may be able to search the salvage yards if I know what I am looking for.

Hi,
I took my original rims and bought a pair of double bevel rims. The diameter of the two are very close at the middle of the rims. I cut them for about two inches of overlap and they fit inside of each other with about 1/16" per side clearance. I put about 6 or 8 spot welds on the smaller of the two and ground them equally for a snug fit. Then tap them together for your desired width. I went an inch wider than stock to flatten the rubber out a bit. Tire sites give proper bead width. Then tack the halves together checking the width all the way around as you go. When all is good, heavy fillet weld both inside and out. Viola! Now I have rims that can be used on a double bevel set-up or the keyed set-up that"s on my R. I went 23.1 x 34... too big though. Not enough power to utilize them. My next tractor will be an 80, 820, or 830 and then I"ll swap these to take advantage of the extra rubber.

If your present rims are solid you can have a steel shop roll a ring the width you want and cut and add it to them. Jon
