I will throw in my two cents worth here. Todd Cawthon at TNT did the crankshaft in my tractor. It has been a very good experience dealing with Todd. He does extremely good work and if he tells you something you can take it to the bank. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Mike

You'll hear good and bad things about EVERYONE. I've been running a Merfeld crank in my G for about 7 years with no problems. I know several others who have been running some of his for a long time also with no problems. He's good, but I hear now he's pretty backlogged with work. There's a place in Kansas City that does Schooler's cranks that's supposed to be pretty good but I've forgotten the name.

That was Campbell Crankshaft that did Schooler's. They just closed up, or are in the process of closing up, which is too bad because they did excellent work, QUICK.

Read "Who to get to grind crank" on the next page or two and you may think twice about having Merfeld do it. My next crank is going to TNT.

Maybe try TNT. They advertise in the Hook Mag. Have heard more negative comments about Merfield than positive ones. Lots of "strapping" issues.
