What would be best to do to a JD B cyclone head on a 300 inch B? Plan on milling head down to eyebrows Should hopely be around 9 to 1 with flat top pistons coming 1'' from deck of block? I have proper equipment for milling, porting etc. I would appreciate any advice you guys have. Thanks

I would build the rods and pistons to get to your 9:1 compression instead of wacking a bunch off the head. I would get someone that can weld cast iron to fill in around the low side of the eyebrow and cut a new valve seat ontop of the eyebrow. All that eyebrow does is cover up half your valve. Make sure your manifold is port mached to your head. Dont go hog wild on the exhaust side of the head, just clean it up a little bit.

are you saying build up around the old seat and move the new seat closer to the deck?
