Looks expensive to me. A metalurgist might say that weld job was a bit hot. Not sure. I'm no expert, just mental metal novice.

next time, i'd go with a 3"....its alot stronger....that lil .25.....i know you didnt' have the crank done...but just a fyi..... i don't personally have any experience with these kind of huge motors, but i have talked to many and have thought about doin a 6.125x9..but haven't...we currently have a 6.125x7.25, and it runs strong....and ain't afraid to rap it..... .

we have a 60 head, and i have no idea the cam grind, its a small shop..and they only have one grind..but it seems to work good..... .someday when i have money, i'll put together a bigger stroker. i can't believe how much work the 7.25 was, i cna't imagine a 9 or anything like that. how big is your new stroke..or undisclosed...haha.....?

I have 9.375/2.75 pin and it wasnt too bad to swing. 9.500 is possible, but the flats on the cam have to be dead nuts right to keep enough material in it to keep it straight, especially with decent valve spring pressure, high ratio rockers and a big cam.

holy crap. i figured the cam had to be moved after 9.375. i guess when i build mine, if i ever do...haa..i'll have to go big or go home..haha...what kinda power does yours have, or ain't ya ever put it on the dyno? I think you sent me pictures of your sleeves..... aol deleted them already, but it wasn't a bad job. i would have to go a little smaller because i wouldn't want it visible...lol..... thanks alot, a puller

9.25" with 3" journal, DID NOT move cam. You just have to remember these three things when building: patience, patience, patience! Good for 662 cubes, and yes...it does hold water!Won 5000# Div. at Columbia. Is also for sale if interested.

just takes some time and alot of grinding and grinding but it will be worth it at the end,I think it would be easer to move the cam to get the claernce,

Moving the cam can depend a lot on what kind of rods you use. Like others said you can get well into the 9's before things start to be a problem. If you use JD A rods they clear better in the back but not up top. 4020 rods and other types clear better up top but not in the back.
