I want to build a wd45 with 400 cubic inch. But I want to know if I could compete with some really hot farmall Ms. I pull a john deere A and I get killed. I pull my stock allis and it does really well. Am I crazy to pull a allis in 4500 and up classes.

You can certainly pull an allis competively at 4500 pounds. I pull mine there just about every weekend and it does well. #5500 is not a problem but above that you are going to start breaking stuff if you have some power..... As far as the M's go it just depends on how hot they are. They have more potential (660 cubes 200 Hp) but there aren't many of those in the country that I know of. Max on allis is probably (477 and 140HP). For what I know about it anyway.

Go with oliver 88 and kick the m's butt. Allis do great in light classes but m's can be built to 650 cu inch.

My dad has an unstyled WC that comes in just under 3000 lbs with 13.6 x 38 on 12 inch wide rims. I have also heard that you can get over 400 inches in one. I have heard someone speak of a 469 inch WC at one time but I am not sure how they did it.

how fast, what kind of track, what can you get away with, a D-17 motor? I think the WC is easier to set up and you can go down to 3500 and up to 7000, but there is some tricks to get there, I pull 6500 in 2nd gear with 18.4x26 with only 301 cui. that is a 5`x4 3/8 bore & stroke
