Thanks for the help. The 400 has the wide front on it so I think that i"ll go with the super M.
Thanks Brett

For weight purposes I would suggest the super M.The little cover on the left side(governor box)connecting to the carburator, take the cover off and you will see the spring in there.A couple of wire ties or some mechanics wire may give you some extra rpms till you get a spring.

With both tractors having narrow front ends, same size tires, same hitches etc, the Super M will be able to get into the 5500# classes without too much trouble, the 400 the 6500# classes pretty easy. Both will have pretty close to the same stock HP. The 400 will have a huge advantage with it's WORKING TA (1.6 MPH vs. 2.5 MPH in 1st gear- where you should be pulling anyway with a stock tractor). The 400 also has about 10" longer wheelbase (less weight will keep front end on ground).

Open up plate on side of governor, shortening large 2" long spring located on middle, left side about 1 to 1 1/2 coils will make about 5-600 more RPM, just squeezing ends of spring shut will get you 1-200 more RPM. You should really have a tach to make sure things don't get toooo wild.
