Is it possible to put a creeper gear in my 47 JD A. It has 3 spd. with HI LOW ?

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SLOW DOWN.THE TRAN. YOU GOT MAKES YOU SAME SPEED AS ALL OTHER TRACTORS.

You can replace the first reduction gear and clutch pulley gear from a late A. This will not slow your A down like the later models but it should cut it down 1/2mph or so. There is a gentleman on this site by the name of Dave Wickman who can provide more detail.

Thanks to BURNS, 1/2 mph would help me as I am thinking of entering a slow race. I`ve been told that my 1st gear is 2.3 mph and that with a creeper gear they go 1.5 mph. If I could get to 1.8 and then worked on the rpm I might not look too stupid. I would like to get in contact with DAVE oranyone else that could help me STACO
