I pulled my 1206 today and when the tractor got under heavy load the clutch gave out. Pull 2nd high 3000 rpms. It has been holding all season, today was the first time it slipped. Right now the setup is a 8 pad hd clutch with a pressure plate with 5 springs per section instead of 4. It is for hydralic assist clutches. (both were brand new this spring) Do they make a button clutch for my tractor? Is there something better? I pull plain farm stock class. Thanks for any help, I have one week to get it back to together since the season up here is over next weekend.

Thanks for any help.

Just wanted to thank you guys for your opinions. I ordered a furamic disc and a heavy pressure plate today. Supposed to be good. I think my 8 pad would have held up but when the pilot bearing comes back away from the snap ring and holds the disc away from the flywheel you are screwed. Burned and glazed it pretty good.

So thanks guys. You all are a lot of help. Just getting into pulling this 1206. Need all the help I can get.

Allied Precsion Products is in Pocahontas Iowa. 800 848-1778. They sell clutches, TA's, will make gears and more. Furamic disc's are made with iron in the face. Softer than ceramic but looks like a woven disc. Some like, some don't.

I don't know where it came from but I bought a used one from a guy in Ilinois and it is awesome for brush pulls. I run a 400 horse 466 in high third and I can slip it right out till I get going good and it does the trick. I don't know what else to tell ya it is good for the improved farm stock tractor. I have heard they are around $500 for a disc don't hold me to it that is what I heard. And from my experience so far they are the ticket for a small town pull. And hey you can still use them to run around on the farm.

I talked to my friend that works at an implement dealer today around my area. He put a furamic clutch in his Super MTA and it cost about 300 bucks. He told me they come from a company A & I. That is all I know. They pretty much guaranteed it to last forever in his MTA. Going to order one tommorrow. 350 bucks for a 14" for my 1206. Supposed to dissapate heat better. Dont know much more. Hope it helps some.

wise decision save your money. You won't be sorry. For the money and using them for brush pulls there is nothing better. Just my opinion

I know you said 3,000 RPM & stock but a steel fly wheel is the safest thing you can do to protect the crowd and track workers. Then a double disc from Allied. Maybe more money then you thought, but we all need to be safe. Some say you don't need it. I won't take the chance.

Now this guy is running farmstock. He sure in the heck don't need a steel flywheel and a double disc for 3000 rpms save your money and just get a single furamic disc put it in and don't split it again for many years. Heck if ya put a good pump and turbo on it you can run high 3rd for a long time without no worrys. Yes a steel flywheel is the safest way to go but if all you are going to run is 3000 don't worry about it.

get your self a single disc furamic clutch. They will take a ton of abuse and they hold up very well.
