Bob, You need to go to the NATPA web site and look under rules and what division you are wanting to pull. But I can save you the time and say no you cant do this with the NATPA. #1 reason is you cannot convert a diesel engine to gas. #2 is Allis Chalmers never made a WD45 gas in a 6 cylinder. #3 the engine block must be of the same manufacture, the same length and number of cylinders as stock (gas was only a 4 cyl- diesel was only a 6 cyl.)

We have 2 local guys that did this swap and put side shields on engine to hide engine. They pulled once and got caught and were told by our local clubs they could'nt use this engine any more. If you really want to use this engine pull a D19AC or a Cockshut 40 or 50 were they are legal.
Hope this helps

You can use that engine in a CS 40 or 50 in DIV 3 but not DIV 2 according to the Nebraska Mafia. But as far as using it in a AC wd45 I have yet to see any clubs allow it in other than open classes.

Can be done but only in Div 5. Rule 11 says diesels can be converted to gas. D19 engines or combine engines are the same length of engine as the original diesel. The biggest problem is making enough cu. in. Olver 88 and Farmall 460 are the tough ones to run with.

THE WD45 DIESEL HAD A 6 CYLINDER MOTOR IN IT FROM THE FACTORY. BUT THEY NEVER USED A 6 GAS ENGINE UNTIL LATER IN THE AC GROUP. SO IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A HYBRID TRACTOR OR A PARTS TRACTOR. WE ALLOW TRACTORS TO CHANGE PARTS AND ENGINES MOTORS AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT NEED ADAPTER PLATE TO MOUNT. SO NO ON THIS CONVERSION. IF YOU NEED TO TALK CALL ME 270-929-5669

We would use a wd diesel block and D19 head. This wouldn't be any different than what the GBD Molines are doing? We were just wanting to pull in some lighter classes and thought this would be a cheap and easy way of doing it. thanks

I am probably wrong, but I thought the head from a D19 gas tractor would bolt to the WD45 diesel block. If so, no adapter plate would be required. Wouldn"t that make it legal. Maybe I am missing the point and they want to bolt in a 301 Allis engine.
