just wanted to get some opinions. i had a cam ground for my 310. i believe it has way to much duration on it. just as thought i wondered if running the valves at .050 instead of .015 would help any on shortening the actual valve duration, or would it hurt because it would lose that much lift also. or am i just peein in the wind.
all input appreciated

Personally I would not go over .030ish lash. The more lash you have, the more valve train parts slam into eachother. With too much lash I believe you will eventually see rocker arm or lifter damage because it simply beat itself to death.

If your camshaft is indeed too big, you will probably gain a few HP with the extra lash reducing duration, but it probably wont be something you feel in the drivers seat.
