Hello, A Freind of Mine and I are looking into trying to get an antigue tractor show started here in Barboursville, Wva, Hopefully at the Barboursville park where theres plenty of room, level ground and restroom facilities. We also would like to look into getting a tractor pull started, thats where You Guys and Gals come in, can You all give Me some Ideas as to what You look for at a pull, such as hook up prices, track conditions,(alot of clay around here), where can a person find a sled to pull, what should a person charge for spectators(thats spectators, not pullers and pit crews),how long would the track need to be? And yes I'm looking at this as a 100%payback as far as hook fees go. I can't promise a tractor pull will even be allowed,But We're deffinitely going to look into it.We have a couple of dealerships (kubota, and John Deere) that we hope will help sponsor any part of this.Any info You can give Me would be greatly appreciated. I Myself have a few ol tractors that I tinker with time permitting, just like now I'm writing this post 800 miles from home in a motel in Mobile Alabama,But when time permits I really enjoy tinkering with those Iron steeds from the past. Thanks in advance Jim Edmonds

Barboursville WV. I am from the Eastern Panhandle WV. We attend antique pulls down that way (VA) now and then and run our 1066's down in VA now and then too. Give me a shout at wvcrash85@aol.com and I can give you some names and numbers of people that might be able to help you out with sleds down that way. If you want some of the rules that are used in the WV, VA, MD and PA area for antique and stock classes I can shoot them out to you also. If your interested.

I have no problem with NATPA rules except one. Are you going to use there brand favoritism RPM allowance? As I sure would like to have the same percentage RPM advantage as a WC Allis gets. That rule is the one single reason I no longer support or pull with NATPA. If you advertise your RPM rule limit, will be based off "original" manufacture specifications for the make and model of tractor like all other associations do, and not brand favor like NATPA does, I know for sure you would get a better turn out. Just a word to the wise. Thank You

Around here, we got our own pulling club, Ozark Highland Tractor club. I agree with the last post, allowing the manufacture's rpm setting & the "cut" tire rule. Also, the drawbar shouldn't be no more than 19" or 21" inches off the ground. For a pull you'll have to have a liability insurance policy to cover damage/injury, we take out a 2 million dollar for one pull. Sled fee around East Central Mo. is 550 a sled. You John Deere dealer can supply a grading & a packing tractor, & if they donate some money that would be helpful. As for your other sponsors, ask around to local businesses, most are more than willing to help out. I'm guessing the clay is pretty hard stuff, so a 400' track ought to be plenty, maybe 40' or 50' wide depending if you are going to run 2 sleds. Anymore questions just write back.
