HAHA! Wasnt that a sweet little conversion? Let me tell you what I know about the dyno with this conversion,,, the 540 pto reading on the H rear end, puts the engine at 1815. Same as the H 4 cyl engine. I think that makes the engine work below the rpm range too much! They love rpm! But, how can you tell what the HP would be at a higher engine rpm??!! At 540, my 263 is at 78 hp. Thats at 1815 engine rpm, which is pretty stout at such a low rpm in my opinion,,, Now, if you were to put that exact same engine in a 706 or like size tractor,, it would be over 100! Due to the 2695 engine rpm and the different pto gearing in the 06 tractor. try this math figure out,, see if it makes sence to you to figure the HP out at lets say 2700 rpm,,,, First off, you need to know the actual HP at 540, it has to have a known number to be a bit more accurate,, some may not agree with this, but Im pretty sure its accurate,, the reason I say that is, Ive dynoed a 706 with the same engine, and my 460 with the rpm differences and got the same numbers,,,, OK,,, Take the HP at 540, and divide that into the engine rpm,,, then mulitply it by 2700 rpm. The formula looks like this,,,, and Ill use my 460 as an example,,,, 78hp divided by 1815 engine rpm, =.042975207 Mutliply this by 2700 engine rpm that comes out to 116 hp at 2700 engine rpm. Now, when you figure this formula the long number will change if the HP output is different than mine,,, so lets say yours is at 75hp at 540,,, 75 divided by 1815= .041322314 Times 2700 engine rpm, =111 hp at 2700 engine rpm. See the difference?? Its like figuring brake HP,, if Im accurate in saying that,,, My 263 makes 185 psi of compression, if your 301 has more compression than that, it will be over 80+ when you tune it at 1815. Just think how strong a 301 is in an 806,,, and use that rpm to get a figure on what its really doing. If that engine made 100 hp at 1815,,, thats 148 hp at 806 rpm!! or atleast thats what the calculator says,,,, LOL! I can belive a 301 style engine is capable of 150 hp at 2700,,,with a stroker,,, they say the 715 301 was 101 hp at 2800,,,, The more they rev up, the stronger these engines get,,, Mine buzzes at 3000+rpm, so Im saying its 128 hp at 3000. Could be, or?? Only real way to know what its really putting out is to put the engine on the dyno with out the H tranny and go from engine rpm. But, I dont have that luxury,,, hahaha!! Did you dress your tractor up as a 806??? Chad
