Thanks gang, I was hopein' you might be able to balance in 6500---never gave 5000 lbs a thought!! Sounds like lots of alum, and lots of grinding/drilling!!!

I have a 57' 900 and we've gotten it down to 5750 with me on it, and all we've replaced with lighter was the rear hubs. I can see how you could go 5500 or lighter with a new front end. I haven't done as well in the 6000 lb. classes due to not having enough weight on the rear and it likes to spin on me. The more you pile on them the better they do, I've pulled up to 8500 and put it on some 4020's

5000 is the class you should be shooting for, will require quite a bit of work and plenty of aluminum, but can be done.

A 900 (Tolson"s) pulled in the Tunica 5200# 12mph class according to the results.

It's possible to get it down to 7500,without completly cutting the tractoe up.
