My H is at .29 horsepower per ci. What are some of you getting from your tractors. Stock or Built doesn't matter. (Hp divided by inches)

I built a 238 ci H with LP head and would dyno 85 hp @ 540, 95 hp @ 620, and 105 hp @ 700 pto rpms.
This was over 10 years ago. This is .357 hp per ci. I figure it differently, 238 ci / 85 = 2.8 ci to make 1 hp.

I'm seeing about 78 hp with 268 ci. It's about the same numbers as a 52 horse 179 ci. (350). All at 540 rpm. Just curious what some other #'s were.

Try comparing torque rating to cubic inches. This will give you some real good numbers on tractor pulling ability. I say this because horsepower is really dependant on rpm. You can take 310 cubes and spin it at 3000 rpm and create some impressive numbers on hp and you will be suprised at the low torque reading. But take a 550 cube moline engine spin it at 1750 rpm and watch the torque readings. They will be outstanding compared to hp. But all these things depend on configuration, fuel, air quality, etc.

I think your gonna find that this isnt going to work to well, your Farmall H is at .29, where as my J.D. G is at .08, yet because you have .29 doesn mean your tractor is bigger, it depends on the tractor.

Always figured a MM U302 70 hp @ 220 cubes was pretty impressive
