Alright I am back again needing a follow up on the first part. I have purchased a real nice dead stock 77RC oliver and am gonna pull it in the stock class. My question is, What can I do to this Motor to get the most out of it and still pull stock. This is just to start off, I will prob. move up to super farm or div. 2 pretty soon. Just want to here your suggestions.

Chris, Do a search under "77 horsepower,77 pulling, etc. There's a wealth of info in the past discussions(I asked my share), If you can change air cleaner(or empty oil out),carb and intake helps, shaving head, etc.Do your homework in research in the archives and you'll be on the right path. Get your weight dwn and findn horsepower, then learn to get it to the track. My 77 started as a ugly junkyard dog.Good luck and have fun. Dan

Chris I know nothing about olivers. They do make good pullers. In a stock class a good tune-up and some movable weight should make it very competitive. What size and kind of tires does it have on it? Welcome to our world.

all stock that tire size should work, look for a super 77 intake and carb, do you have cast center wheels or stamped steel. with very little work you can get down to 4000 and should be competitive, if the others are using the same rules. takes time and homework, don't give up, it can be fun.

Stamped wheels, not cast. belt pully gear already removed. is there any work that i can do to the motor other than just the intake and carb and still be stoc. they are very liberal were i am gonna pull. in other words most in stock have dome pistons and headwork done
