John, I was talking to my wife bout USAP, I was telling her a few stories from years past. She asked me, isnt it cold pulling during winter? I said, well, It can be,,, But usually its decent pulling weather. Remember back at the Ohio County park, In good ol Hartford KY, was either back in 98, maybe 99, I remember it was pouring down the rain, every so often it would clear up, long enough to show a blue sky, then 5 minutes later, it dumps a bucket on ya just for looking up. I know the Saturday pull was wet, and Sunday wasnt too bad. But I never forgot, just how many pullers were right there too. I mean that lot was packed! Standing room only! Just goes to show you,, USAP brought em there. And we had fun. For many years after that! My favorite memory so far, is when I was in the 4000 modified stock with My Something Wilder Faramll H, I had got in to a pull off with a couple of tough AC' WC, and a WD45. My nerves were on end, sittin in line, As I watched the first AC make its pass, Seen the sled was stoppin em short, The second AC pulled, and got it out there, 104.25. Which, back then, on that track, wasnt a bad hook at all! Then, was my turn. All I can think about was just getting the H hooked up to the sled, without backing over the nice lady hooking the sled. finally got it hooked up, green light was on, and away I go. I was nervous, I mentioned that,,, didnt I? Trying to find the speed, without setting off the horn, Got out to 100feet, and I turned Something Wilder Loose. It took off like a rocket, but was not for long, the tractor came to a stop. As I was exiting the Ohio county track, the announcer was talking, He said before I had to beat the distance of 104.25, then gave a long pause, Then said, I had the distance of 104.41. Making our day, a triple class victory. Many years after that, we had the same results, and became a good team to beat. But, somehow, someway, we made it there. Always made the effort to come down and see you John! Wind, rain, sleet n snow did not stop us, We all will come for a visit. ChadS

Hey Chad S. the Massey came home with a nipped front end, Bryant couldnt make the weight so his son pulled it bit really hard and did a big wheelie and came down a little harder than that ole massey wanted to. Pink Power didn't do bad for her first pull on IN soil, was in top 6 but came home with a busted weight bracket, but thankfully it didn't take part of the tractor with it like the massey. Got to beef em up before returning. Planning to pull up there Jan 21. Hope to see you & the mrs there.
