We pull a 730 gas, and pull against a 730 diesil in deadweight pulls on asphalt. We have tried to get the best HP out of the 730 gas, but to find out, it was way too much power for what we was doing. So, we put it all back to stock,, plain jane 87 pump gas, and it pulled alot better. Now the 730 diesil had his pump turned up too, he had the same problem, he backed it down and just made it run good under power, and that tractor came to life on the asphalt. He was running 20.8X38 on 20 inch rims, in 2nd gear, we ran 2nd and third gear, with dualed up 15.5's. There was also a G that was hopped up too,,, we tuned it in back to stock, and that one does alot better too. Hope you see what Im saying,, its not really a big power style pulling, its all in the weight placement and the right power to the tires. JD 2 cyl's darn near dominate heavy deadweight pulls,, they are hard to beat. ChadS
