What do you guys run for rules and classes down there? Where are the toughest tractors at and what are they? I was thinking about coming down. Thanks in advance!

Toughest tractors, depends on what weight class and division. There is a real tough JD 730 that resides close to Caldwell, Texas that is tough tough tough.

Texaspuller,

Tri-County generally follows NATPA rules and runs divisions I - III tractors from 3,600 lbs. to 13,000 lbs. Practice is on Friday afternoon and the pulls generally start about 9:30 am on Saturday.

Thanks for making it to Burton Ben. I was gonna talk with ya for a bit, but I was so busy trying to take care of everything. I can't make it to Lytle, but hopefully I can get all the parts together for my other motor for my Super M soon so I can make it to a few pulls that direction. See some different competition. I got new tires, 18.4x38s. My plan is to run Div III all the time from now on. After changing tires, I just gotta lose some weight.

Hi Ben, I thought it was somewhere outside of LaCoste. What classes do you run? There's alot of mean tractors in the bigger classes. I heard Keith has a new sled that is supposed to be a little kinder to the lighter classes. Ever see that little MF35 pull? When he goes by, all you hear is I think I can, I think I can... I'm a red fan but there's alot of nice JDs there as well. I like the General Purpose JDs with the spoke wheels and Bucks W-9. Good Luck, Charles

Pulled in Boerne 2 wks ago with my 50 I got a 1st in the 6100 and 3rd in the 6600. The sled I think it is the tri county sled that has been around for awhile.
I am thinking about pulling the 6600 and 7100
The pull is for the Lytle FFA, And you are correct it is in or near LaCoste. If you pulled in New B I think I saw it.
Hope to see you there,I just got to see if the G has any Muscle. It did good in Floresville last year, But it fell on it Face in Hondo, went home with it tail between it's rear wheels

Ben & Charles,

The pull is at the Bar H arena in Lytle. But, it's closer to LaCoste. This will be the new sled that Tri-County built over the winter. But if you're coming from San Antonio to Lytle on I-35, get off of the interstate and come into Lytle and take FM 2790 to LaCoste (North). The arena will be West of 2790 on CR 582.

I've attached a map but you may have to use the "zoom in" feature to receive better detail.

Guys,

After re-reading my earlier message regarding the directions, I've found that the County Road number was incorrect. The County Road number is 580 and not 582! It's the next road closer to LaCoste. My appologies.

Ben,

I won't make it. I've got some honeydos to take care of. My dad my bring the 70 as he's only a few minutes drive.

I've started a new project. A model G. I'm giving myself about a year to get it together. She'll be a Division II puller.

Have fun in LaCoste. The new sled is pretty slick. I've seen it several times but not pulled it. There has been a group of guys that have been practicing with it for about a month or so. I believe they've got most of the bugs worked out.

Take care,
Oppy

Hi Ben, I didn't pull, my little tractor is in pieces right now with the rear end out of it. A friend of mine pulls the MF. I'll be there though. Got hammered with the rain tonight, no hail though. Good Luck, Charles

I have changed jobs so I wont be working weekends during the summer and can make some pulls between getting marrried.

Looking forward to pulling the new sled.

Good to hear you are changing jobs. That working instead of tractor pulling is for the birds. And you bit the bullet to get married too. The Farmall was running good in Burton. Hopefully we have gotten all the kinks out of the sled now for more of the smaller tractors to hook to it. Sounds like we are both making some good decisions. I got a promotion at work and am gonna be living in Texas again, and I am getting married in Oct. So, hopefully I can finally get my old super M painted before I get married.
When's your date?

July 22. then to Jamacia for a week, I am going to be an Agronomist for an Irrigation company that does large scale yards and sports fields. Good to be back in my Major area.

Dad said that the big sled is really nice. Best thing to happen to it was put the pan wheels on it. He said yall let him pull the little sled in 4th gear which was nice.

We had a pull in Columbus last weekend and The Farmall had problems. Not sure but it sounded rich but that is almost impossible since the dyno didnt bring the situation up. Might be a plug wire or we need to go to a hotter series plug.

Dont think we are going to do anything else to the engine, the next step is a billet crank and furnace braze cylinders up to 300 inches and that is expensive. Might bore it some more and try to get another 25 inches or so and get to 250-260 inches if it ever comes apart for some reason. Going to try to put the aluminum on before our fair to get into the 3600 lb class.

I think we are going to devote the finances to the diesel instead of a super hot little farmall. In the 3600-4600 class and get out of the 5100 the H is going to be hard to beatin Div. 3-4, thats after the alum gets added.

PS October is for deer season, not weddings :)
