what length of time should a person let pass before they start getting upset because they haven't recieved even a phone call from a reputive machine shop, much less the finished product? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a jerk, I understand they have bigger orders to fill thaan just mine. It's just that it's going on over two months and I haven't heard anything. I wouldn't have a problem if they would call and say "two weeks", "a month". atleast then I could say ok or just ship em back to me that's too long. I'm new so I don't really know if two months is long or short. What do you think?

Call every week and after a month call every day and ask when you can pick it up.

The biggest thing I have learned is not to ever do any "machine shop" work during the pulling season, it will seem to take forever and a day to get your stuff, It once took about two or three months just to get my motor back and of course the crank dead last so you have to wait for that for every other part that hangs on it. I would probably call and get a promise date, if that is not reasonable, just get it back or see if any other arrangements can be made, the shops really dont have any "feeling" about your parts, there just parts and they see them everyday, they have your parts and probably some money to keep you there, And poor relations seem to somehow end up in the same quality of parts if they get hurried. they dont cut price breaks for not being timely.

I'd call em and see what is going on.What I have had done around here took a long time and ended up always costing more than the estimate I was given. Not saying all is bad but some lack customer relations.I have gone over to a place once and had plum forgotten me and didn't even know where my block was. That will make you roll your eyes.

I have learned over the years to ask before you leave anything to ask about how long then call on that date.
