I have a oliver 88, pulling in the out of feild class and farm stock class, 5000 to 6500, and am debating on a tire size, its pushing around 100hp, narrowed down to 14.9x38 or 16.9x34, and what size of rim width should i use with each of these tires? thanks!

Im running a WD 65 hp with 14.9-38 on a 16" rim and it hooks up impressively well! although it would be my opinion with a 100 hp tractor id go with 16.9-38. take it for what its worth but id always go bigger on the rim size

Used to pull with both the 16.9-34 and 14.9-38's. The 14.9-38's always seemed to pull better. I had mine on 14"ims.

Try and find a set of 15.5x38 on 16inch rims. try and find amrstrongs or firestones.

I wouldn't use a rim that is more than 1 inch smaller than the tire width. The 16.9 and the 14.9 are normally the same height. I run an M making about 65 HP and I am running a 16.9 tires. I finsih well enough , but I never win. I used to win a lot with the 14.9 tires.
