I am putting a Waukesha F320G into a 88 Oliver.Just wondering if I would gain anything by shaving the head.Everything else would be left stock. What kind of HP(if any) would I gain. Also wondering how much to shave it. Its all in pieces so i thought of doing it if anything significant could be gained. Thanks

Very little gain in CR with shaving the head. Chambers are large and the deck is thin on this head. Also depends on what head you have to, there were 2 different size chambers in production. It depends on your rules on what you should do next. If you can turn some revs, then I would look at getting more airflow. I get 240 to 250cfm at 28 on these heads with a 2.02 valve. Don't forget the manifolds either...they are not very good in stock form and you need to do some work here. You can get more flow than this, but you need to move alot of stuff around which gets pricey. If you can't spin RPM's, then you need more cubes with the stock head to get anywhere.
