Is it safe to load a 460 up to 8000 lbs? I would be pulling probably up to 20,000 lbs dead weight. I have plenty of power. Will the rear end hold up without jerk starts? I plan on putting as many wheel weights as possible to reduce harm on the tractor, but there is only so much I can put on the wheels. Is this ok or just plain stupid?

there"s a couple 460"s that start around 8,000 here and pull up around 11,000. Us and another guy pulled our Ms up to 14,000 at one pull, and we pull our H up to 7500 pretty regular. Wouldn"t think you"d have much trouble, but we oinly pul transfer sled - don"t know how dead sled would be.

Thats a good H you guys have, was it 6000 or 7000 that you guys pulled it in last year at Beaver Springs and won. Even beat the M you guys had there. There was a pile of strong tractors in that class.

7000 class we won out there. It really likes getting heavy - I think it would be competive in 8500 pace at west end and beaver, but not sure we want to test things that hard :)

We might pull 4500, 5000, and 6000 with it at MAFMCA this year - can't run against the M's in the non-pace classes over 5000, but can get them in the pace.

At west end we ended up 3rd in te 14000 with the M this year - shively won it with his M. Not sure if we'll do it again or not, but I'm guessing dad will want to.
