Trying to set up a JD 70 LP. F 1101 R intake. Heard about cutting the divider out between the 2 air runners. What will this do and what kind of performace/problems will this create? Heard some of the gas pullers are doing this but I'm running propane, any difference?
Thanks for the advice.

There's some debate on this practice and from what I know about it the jury's still out. I am running a 600+ cubic inch 70 with an open plenum (divider taken out) manifold. When I built the tractor several years ago I consulted several respected builders about doing this, and all of them said it was common practice to do so, the bigger the motor the more of an advantage. Contrary to some of the posts I've read in the past on this board, my 70 has no idling problems, although the #1 cylinder is dominate just like the tractors with single barrel carbs. As for loss of intake air speed and lugging ability, I can't say that's a problem either, the tractor still has excellent low end torque. I would like to hear from someone who has tryed both ways, divider in vs. divider out, that way we'll all know what's best. Until then everything is based on opinion and theory.

With more cubes you will see a differance on the dyno.. more without the divider... I couldn't tell you about a stock cubed tractor..

You just make a 70 into a G, a step backwards.
