Can anybody give me some ideas on what to check. When I get headed down the track the tractor sounds like it has a miss to it and just doesn"t run quite right. I pulled the plugs and they are a light brown in color, I am going to change them.

My 60 did that and It had a bad left hand cam bearing its under a 2 bolt cover behind but in front of the flywheel. The one on the right side gets oiled better from the inside and the left one gets very little oil so grease it good not to hard to check just pull the cover . Mine got bad enough that when I used the hydralics it would only fire 1 cyl. The hyds. drive off of the cam gear and would move the end of the cam enough that the valves didn't close on the left cylinder.

Ive got a 60 that i pull.... been all through it. Autolite 388 does a good job. elec ignition helps a bunch. good wires and clean carb will also insure smooth running deere. email if you have any questions. curt3227@yahoo.com

You will most likely fix the problem with new plugs. You may want to go with a hotter plug, if all you do is parades and rides. I just switched from Champion to Autolite in my 1940 B. The difference was amazing, it starts the first pull every time, and it does not miss at all. It used to have a little miss at high RPMs. Hope this helps.
