I went to the sigourney pull and had a very good time.Wanted to see the antique classes and thought about taking one of my A"s.Was i glad i saved the embrassment for something else i can do .cause i don"t think i could move the sled.I think an A like that is going to have to be in the works.

I went to watch on Sunday...enjoyed seeing all the nice tractors. I was impressed on how quickly things went....a lot of tractors pulled in a short amount of time..I thougt.

36 A...don't worry about 'being embrassed', I have never seen anyone in antique tractor pulling poke fun at how far anyone pulled. they might agrue about tires, digging holes, speed limits, compression, fuel, hitches, color, governors, rpms, etc, but generally people don't discuss (or care) who finished at the back of the pack. In fact the guy who finished last probably has more fun that the guy who finished first....as they don't have to defend all of the items mentioned above!

There was several B John Deere's that moved the sled and a few that even out pulled several model A's. So if your going to soup up that A make sure it will at least out pull a B!! Hate to see you get embarrassed by a little one.

Alot of muscle in some of the B"s, esp. the Wickman & Shellum versions.
Some of the folks noticed that son Andrew wasn"t with me this year, so I had to brief him on how the pull went. He heard enough from me to put the B crank back on line at the Benjamin Crank Shop. Glad he"s found a balance between his R/C plane interests (that ain"t cheap, either...) and pulling.
Anyway, took a little over 300 pictures, and I"m real happy with the results. Should have the 212 from NATPA Sandusky up in a week or two, then I can work on Sigourney.
Caught a nasty bug, need to doctor myself up and crank up the truck... Kentucky wants their stuff...
