I HAVE USED 2 PRODUCTS IN AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS RECENTLY THAT WORKED WELL
ONE IS CXALLED "DYKE" IT MIXESWITH COOLANT OR WATER AND IS POURED IN
THE OTHER IS GM "COOL TABS" THESE ARE PELLETS THAT CAN BE CRUSHED AND MIXED OR DROPPED IN WHOLE
I HAD REAL GOOD RESULTS WITH BOTH BUT I THINK THE COOL TABS WORKED BEST
YOU CAN BUY THEM AT ANY GM DEALER

I think you are asking about (SODIUM SILICATE)or what we called (WATER GLASS)or(EGG KEEP).I think we just dissolved it in water and I once added to a old ford v/8 that had a big crack in the block and drove it a long time after that. CENTAUR

That V/8 FORD was not a good smooth runner since it had a severe crack going into a valve seat.As I remember it was about 1/16 inch.I do not know where your (leak)is.If it is a moderate crack I would use K&W block sealer but do not follow the directions on the can.Put it in and never remove it as it will continue to seal as needed.Do not expose to air for longer then is necesary when checking the coolant as it will harden when exposed to air.I know the water glass will gel like pudding if you get it too strong. It was 50 years ago when I did that and I guess you can add a mixed solution till you get the leak stopped.
