I pulled my 88 diesel in the 7500 class and came in second, only thing i did is turn the fuel up, with 14.9/38 field and road tires

would need to know the drawbar height to get an idea of weight placement and what kind of track your gonna be on. with those tires at that weight class, it sounds potentially very good, what all pulls in your class, is your 88 stock or warmed up?

Hitch hieght is at 20, and the track is hard pack dirt, the tractor has some extra help in the power department, but nothing extreme. im not too sure of what ill be agianst, heard theres alot of red but ive never pulled this place before and its alittle out of my way, but its the only pull going on.

Is there a speed limit or rpm limit? this will account for alot too, if your not limited on speed, run 2nd gear, I would have at least 650 or more on the nose, if it looks like its biting and you guys lifting the front, take a look at what they have, you might need closer to 800 on the nose, ollies dont usually need alot of belly weight, but load the back end full, the front as said earlier and the remaining on the belly, this should work, low gear might be needed, but with 34" rubber, 2nd ought to handle it, let us know how it works out.

Generally, an 88 is only effective from the 4500 to 6500 class in my opinion and 6500 takes alot of thinking weight wise to get it on effectively.

My sound funny but I have been told if you have a wide front end under one it helps a lot. I found the one and only time I pulled my Super 88 that even with the wide front I wished I had more weight up front and I was 150 lbs light to boot but came in 4th out of 17 tractors in the 5500 lbs class

seen one weighted dowsn to 14,000 before, but I wouldn't recomend it, and weight through the middle was sparse - both ends as I guess they're weak in the middle. Saw one twist the cast frame and break it at Dekalb a few years ago around 4500 - so who knows! A few M's in the area pull 14,000 pretty regular.
