Oil rings

I put a late modle crank in my unstyled A, differant pistons. now the bottom ring almost comes out of the block.Some said i should just leave out the oil control ring and others say to move the control ring up and machine out the grove on the upper rings.i dont know witch ring is better.One scrapper or the oil control ring.Help i want to put it togther today.

On Deere pulling tractors I never run a ring below the pin. I don't know what piston you are running, some I have to drill oil drain back in the groove above the pin and use the oil control ring. I also run 2- 1/8 comp. rings in the 1/4 groove for better sealing on high comp. Earl

I had stock late A pistons high alt.We cut the bottom of the four groves for the oil control ring and drilled holes.Thanks for the reply.
