 I don't see why you couldn't. in reply to antiqer, 08-27-2007 19:01:03
You should definantly be able to get that tractor down that low. You have to take the oil bath off, all the hydraulics, the hydraulic pump. You will also have to get a distributot drive off of an H or something to put where the lines go to the front. Where the tower is, you will have to make a new bracket out aluminum or something to hold all of that up. You can take the PTO out and put a cover over that also, that should put you somewhere between 4,000 and 4,500 lbs. I dont know for sure what its gonna weigh.I dont know what the rules are where you pull, but you can also take the fenders off if you want to.

My M weights 4200 without me on it. I built a custom wide front end to eliminate the bolster, used a small automotive radiator, pulled the PTO and hydraulics, and have steel wheels all the way around. Getting rid of that front bolster and adding a long weight bracket will help get the weight down alot. You might also want to replace the top cover on the rearend for something light weight. This would allow you to hang some weights out front for better balance.

That is not tractor pulling. That is ruining a good tractor and droping down in a class it doesn't belong, taking candy from a baby!! Boy, that is something to brag about!!

So I guess the 4500RPM and turbo also make it less of a pulling tractor...

Get a life and quit making snide comments about something you know nothing about.

For your information, I pull 5500-5700lb but the light starting weight allows me to put wieght where it is needed instead of where it is stuck.
