I have a summit multispark ignition CD on my pulling tractor. It won't work right. All the wires are hooked up right, but it only sputters when I try to start it. Sometimes it pops like it is out of time. I think I may have a spark arcing somewhere under my cap. Any ideas?

What are you using to trigger it, the litature i have says it wount work with a hall efect sensor. So i was reading some more and the way i understand it that the pertronix electric pickup is a hall efect pick up. I was going to order one but i would have to go back to points, the way i understand it. We hooked up a MSD 6A this spring with points and it really worked good on this pulling engine 15% hp increase and it really just runs better.
just a thought
