ok guys , 18.4 x38"s , firestone 151 "s on 18 inch wide rims , some motor work done , small tires on the front . nice slope to it and works great on a tranfer sled , my problem is 8" dead weight pulling , everyone else has the same tire but they use first gear and just about sqeek it out , they use every bit of the motor , i use second gear and it spins out - i"ve tried between 6 - 11 lbs of pressure and i still spin out , front is coming up just a bit - it dance"s right on top of the dirt - so what do you think?

Ya got too much power for the weight of the tractor. On dirt or asphalt, a low HP engine will walk all over a higher HP tractor. Thats why you see ALOT of the high HP tractors in the heavier classes. Its not about power in deadweight pulling. Its about weight placement, and the proper application of strength to move the immovable object. 2 opinions of what to do,,,, 1, is to detune your tractor to where it will hook up, 2, is to jump up a weight class and try to balance it out. You must plant the wheels to the ground to get that first hard bite to set things in motion, too much throttle and you spin, everytime. Hitches in deadweight,,,, well, they put em up underneath the tractor as far as they can, since there is not much of a set dimention from the center of the rerar axle. If your running a 18X20 drawbar like the transfer sled, the tractors that have the hook point up close will hook up and plant the tires way before a tractor with a 18X20 setup hitch. It pulls harder downwards with the hook point so close to the rear axle. Just my opinion,,, ChadS www.thetractorshop.com
