Piston comp dist.,rod lenghth and head gasket thickness all are used to determine compression ratio. The gasket can be as thin as.018 and as thick as .125.This can be used as a tool to alter comp ratio to tune for altitude and track conditions. The total package has to be taken into account, not just what someone else is running.Do your math and double check befor you order parts and start assymbly.Don't rely on cyl pressure because the only way to get that reading is AFTER you've put it together. If your not sure of how to do the math and the measurements to get the input numbers I'd recommend you get a competent engine builder to help you. Most people would rather only spend the money once, and have it right, than to trial and error it.
