Get a Brass button clutch disk. They are not the smoothest to engage but they will hold the power.
What kind of power are you getting out of you BN? My B only has 32HP but its a lot of fun and I can whip a few C's that are around here! Shaggy

What do you consider drastic? Bored block with Super H sleeves, auto pistons with a 340 head? Some guys run the 154ci. hopped up motors in there B"s and don"t have any trouble. If you have that kind of power, your not going to be able to keep those little 9.5"s or 11.2"s hooked up anyhow. Good luck with whatever you decide. I myself need a stronger moter in my B.

I looked in the yellow pages and went to a clutch rebuilding shop. The original Spicer clutch didn't even even use a wide enough friction area to contact more than 2/3 of the pressure plate/flywheel area. There were three choices of friction materials too. Of course after going to max friction area and the stickiest friction material. It's a touchy feat of clutch pedal feathering to keep her from "jumping" while engaging. Reverse is probably worst while backing up to the sled. You may have modified the engine but where and how high is the torque peak? If the engine is now making 225lb ft at 2500rpm instead of 200lb ft at 1200rpm. Odds are the stock clutch is fine torque wise but needs balancing and a scatter shield. Or a billet flywheel.
