We have used Case powershifts for many years from a 970 to a 1570 and have had virtually no -trouble ,they are not junk but the people who don't know how to run them and tear them out are idiots!! I think a 6-18 onland behind a 1570 in heavy ground should adeqately stress test them!!! For an AC person to call a Case junk is a laugh!! Lots of 13-1570's , 22,23,2590's running around here. No 7060's or 7080's left!!!

What type of class are you wanting to pull? A std trans is best if you are going really high hp. A power shift will up to 250hp in a 1070 with only some torque limiter work. My uncle had a 1070 powershift around 265hp pulled it 8 years then sold it. The people still pulled it and the powershift lived another 4 years before needing work. If you are going to pull it stock the powershift would be fine. King Case

We are pullers from Holland(The Netherlands /Dutch). Our rpm limit is 3000/min. We would like to adjust the engine with a turbo, a big big diesel injection pump and an intercooler to cool the air, so the boast will approach about 70 psi. The HP will raise to about 500 - 600. There are special classes for pulling these kind of engines. Here we call it sport or super sport classes.

We like the Case 870 and are looking to get one. So when anybody knows a Case 870 for sale let them contact us.

However, ... we think that the powershift will not be enough to handle the HP and that we would be better of with a manual shift. What do you think?

I had an 870 and was gonna put a 504 in it but an old fellow that is pretty up on his cases said it would never hold up. You definately want an 8 speed tran. the powershifts are junk!
