I broke my tractor and I ordered a shop manual yesterday but until then, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the technical terms for the numbered pieces in the picture. Numbers 1a and 1b are the same piece and I tried to unbolt 1a today and turned it 360 degrees and now I can't turn it so the broke side will match up with 1b. Do I need to take something apart to fix it now? Number 2 is broke almost in two but I hope I can just get it welded back. I am not sure if number 3 is bent or if it is supposed to look this way. 4 is bent but I probably can straighten it myself. I feel depressed after I did this to my first tractor and I hope I can get it out of this damned mudhole soon. I appreciate any help. Thank you--Marvin

ouch, i bet that hurt.
if grandpa saw that he'ld say get to brazing that there yoke and straighten them rods with some heat.
i have 2-730's with yokes that have been brazed( grandpa was indeed a good ol'hand), they seem to be holding up fine. just got to keep the grease to them.
good luck

Generally you're talking about steering arms, tie rods, front axle support- but your shop manual isn't of much good when you call dealers or parts yards. You need the parts manual to ID these parts. Companies vary in their terminology, so a parts manual can give you the correct names and numbers. Looks like the front support is the worst damage- can probably be straightened by a good welding shop. I'd lift and carry that mess to higher ground, block it up, and then do the fixing.

Beginning to look you you will be better off tring to find another front end for it then to try to fix that. Sorry to say this but if you play when you shouldn't you have to pay for it. Where are you at. I know of a place in Missouri the has 5-10 wide front ends. But they are priced at $300-700
