My 9N doesn't seem to be getting enough fuel. I can empty the sediment bowl and put it back on but the fuel won't flow. I can remove the fuel line from the carb. and the fuel will flow good but as soon as I reinstall it the fuel stops. I removed the carb., disassembled it and clean it but no improvement. The fuel flows good until the bowl fills and the float valve closes. the tractors starts and idles good but is not getting enough fuel to climb a hill. any suggestions would greatly be appreciated?

four thing can be wrong which i had found out don't cost much to fix 1 remove the fuel bowl from the tractor the screen might be plug which part of my problem was because the 5 gal gas can i had use did it put a new screen on or just replace to a new one

2. two new 1/4x 30 inch long steel line and you have to cut of short peice to fit you will have to bent it with a fall from the the tank never run it level across the engine put some fall in remeber it. it don't pump gas why two steel line you migth bent the wrong way " i went thew four them

3. after get to this point there elbow fitting on a carubrator get 1/2 or 9 /16 wrench and remove it and put a new one in which there only a few dollar these are two filter you need you won't have to use car filter which cause some problem because a ford run better in close fuel line system as i found out

4. now since were working on fuel system which is the easy part of working this thing get you a carubator kit it full kit it replace everything you need you tool needed part tank wire screen screwdriver air hose with blow gun wire brush after get this point if you not sure of this point get a carurator tech to do it but afer i did my first one it was simply the float ajustment was so easy to do and it only took about 1 hour to do and turn the fuel and air adjustment screw 1 full turn as the instruction say read them and keep read them

Old is right... if the barb bowl fills, then the float is doing it's job... You can always pull the drain plug and get the air bubble to move if it bothers you to look at it. Carb bowl can hold a minute or more of gas.. so.. if it fills, and you go up a hill.. you shouldn't have problems, unless you are adjusted bad..

Believe it or not your problem isn't in the sediment bowl or the line or probably not even the float. You either have the main jet set to lean or the main jet area of the carb is clogged. If every thing is as it should be when you put the sediment bowl back on and the carb already has gas the sediment bowl will not fill up till the float opens up again.
