I just bought 2 8n tractors one has a loader on it the wrap around style you have to get on from the back and it has a manual dump lever, the resivour is the tubing frame the cylinders leak bad and have big nuts holding the packing in place what do i need to do to fix the leak? what do i ask for, for packing and what material is best? i have 2 cylinders to raise and lower the bucket with no down pressure and a single control valve. also the second 8n needs a dump cylinder well the cylinder is good the rear attachment housing broke where the pin goes in 1 ear is broke off or do i go to tractor supply and buy a new cylinder? I want to thank all the guys who take time to help answer the questions i have posted being a new tractor owner it helps when you have a great place to get the help you need.
Thanks in advance

As sound says there never was a 1941 8N if its truely a 1941 then its a 9N and has a 3 spped tranny. Now if it has a 4 speed tranny and a side mount distibutor then its a 1950-1952 8N.

Forgot to add.. model 9n was 1939-1941, model 2n was 1942-1947, model 8n was 1948-1952 ( there were some year overlap between models.. thus.. some 1948 8n were made in 47.. etc..

IE.. there is no 1941 8n...

TS does have a decent selection of da cyls, and you can try the surplus shop and find some inexpensive red lion cyls.

A good hyd shop may unpack and weld that ear on that cyl, then reseal.. and also reseal your other cyls.. might be easier than doing it yourself if you are unfamilair with hyd cyls.. ot don't have the 'big' tools needed to take those gland nuts off.. I work for a road contractor.. we send all cyls over about 2" out.. just too plain hard to do them yourself without all the tools.
