Cub Cadet 105 given to my friend. Originally
wouldn"t start. First we changed the oil &
Determined points dirty so filed clean. We got spark and engine fired right up. Ran rough but ok. Adjusted the 2 carb screws a bit while running and the engine ran great. Ran for 15 20 minutes. We restarted a few times to make sure evrything was ok. no problems.

Now it won"t start at all. We have good spark to
the cylinder head bolt when we pull the plug. I"ve cleaned the carb which was pretty clean to start. Tried starting fluid thru the carb and in the cylinder directly. No sign of life at all.

What could this be. How can i have spark, fuel, air and no bang?

Thanks in advance E

Sorry to answer my own question. but i don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I discovered that what looked like strong blue spark was in fact an eratic spark. It wasn’t staying where it should (between the gap). rather it was going away from the gap. We put in a new plug and it fired right up. Live and Learn.

check for stuck valves. along with spark, air and fuel, you need compression.
