Just bought a Ford LGT165 tractor. It runs good but does not have enough power to go up even a small hill. Better in reverse but still not good.

Could this be due to low fluid in the transmission? How do you check / add?

Any help is appreciated.

on the back of the transmission there is a plug that u will need a 3/8 rachet and extension to get out and the fluid level should be to the bottom of that hole.

It could be oil level or linkage adjustment, I have a complete hydrostatic trans axle for sale out of a LGT165. Has hi/lo range and is in excellent condition. if interested, let me know.
