Question? Ever have a float that had a pin hole in it so you had to get another for 20.00 or so dollars. Try dipping the float in red koat gas tank liner and hang to let dry. Works great and if you keep red koat around it's a simple fix.

That's why you just dip the whole float in the red kote. You don't have to look for the hole in the float.

And when you first pull it out, and shake it to see if there"s some gas leaked inside, don"t try to dry it out by putting it on a heat source, even a moderate one...yeah, that"s learning the hard way...

That works but only if you can find where the hole is. I have a float from one of my Olivers that has a hole in it but I haven't been able to find the hole.

Do what souNdguy said, then cool that float off with cold water after you mark the hole. Then hold it with the hole down under hot running water to force the gasoline out of it. May have to do it more than once to get it all out. Then, using an electric solder iron and some rosin core solder, you can solder that up so fine it'll last at least 35 years. (fixed my Holley carb float back in '71-still holding)
