2n hyd lift problem

i just had hyd pump out and installd new releif valve. now when i raise lift to where it starts to move it goes all the way up,same when i go down. this is a tractor i just bought. exactly how does control valve work in the pump. HELP LEO

Did you mess with the linkages under the hyd top cover when you did the work?

there is really not much linkage in there,on 2n maybe just a rod and fork to run control valve.and valve is not sticking.parts guy said something has to be done in pump but did'nt know what.thanks for your reply leo

If you think there is no linkage.. you didn't look under the top cover.. lots of draft linkage.. and the adjustment of that linkage -WILL- effect the performance and function of the lift... The pump just pumps oil.. it has a control and relief valve.. it does whatever the control valve tells it to do.. the controll valve is controlled by the fork.. which is in turn controll by all of that non existant linkage under the top cover, which is in turn, controlled byt the hytrol 3pt lift handle on the side of the hyd top cover.
