Im re restoring my JD 38 Long Frame B and have a question for yall. Once I get all the brass like my 3 way valve and the air cleaner emblem alllll l shined up slick n so shiny a fly couldnt land on it, if I spray it with Clear Coat will it stay shiny or fade n crack n turn dark and/or peel off etc??? If thats not the answer, how else, besides havin the first wife polish it lol, can I keep it from oxidizing n turning dull grrrrr rrrrr r.

I did that on my fuel lines on a unstyled AR about 5 years ago and still look the same as the day I did it. Tractor rarely goes inside. Usually always under a shade tree for most the day. On a carb for a AO I cleaned it real good and sprayed the body with WD-40 a lot of times before I put it back together. That has been about 2 years ago and it is still holding up good. Every couple of months I give it a light spray.
