I have recently replaced all steering cluth discs on both sides. 10 steel and 10 fiber each side. Afer reinstalling, I can't steer. The steering clutches aren't releasing. Could the sleeve be worn down to the point that it isn't moving the discs apart? I'm stuck here. This is the tail end of my getting this dozer refurbished to where I can use it. Can anyone offer any help / advice. I've tried to find someone that usd to work on these, but have had no luck there. Please help !! Send me email.
Frustrated in North Alabama . . .
Thanks! Jim

HI Did you readjusted the stering cluch rod and you should have 1 inch free movement on top of the hand lever and 2 inchs free play on the break pedal.

I adjusted all of the slack out of the steering levers. I"m not sure I follow you on the brake adjustment....The way they are adjusted right now, when in forward or backward travel and the brakes are depressed, it starts bogging down quickly, so the brakes are working. As soon as I pull either steering lever, I can feel tension (no slack), but the actual travel of the sleeve that extends from the yoke to disengage the clutch pack seems to be only a quarter inch or so. If I pull both steering levers while in forward travel, it continues forward, when it should cease to pull. J
