My 584 went through a flood this year, the water reached about 1/2 way up the front tires and to the bottom of the body. We have managed to get it running quite easily but we seem to have lost the clutch.
Some have suggested that the flywheel is stuck, but the clutch pedal still feels the same, as if it is just not connected anymore. What is the mechanism? Is it a cable? Linkage? Hydraulic? I'd love to get this fixed myself, but don't even know where to start.

Rust on the clutch disc and flywheel has locked it up. Block the pedel down for a few days and also pull the starter and spray some brake cleaner in and turn the engine over by hand so you can get all the way around with the spray. After that you may have to start it in gear in a big open area and drive it a bit to pop it loose. Pretty common problem with tractors even with out the flood
