Check the condition of yer belt. If it has worn edges, or frayed sides, material hanging off it, it might need replacing. Mastercraft did not make Sears Craftsman tractors, as far as i know. check also the condition of the rear pulley and any idler pulleys, for looseness of the bearings, or the mounting hole in it, or wear! If you need a new belt, don't buy it at the local hardware store--go to a lawn mower repair shop to buy the belt. they will probably have an assortment so they can sell you the correct type of belt!

A craftsman is made by a different company than mastercraft. A mastercraft is probably made by MTD. Don't know the model though. Dave
