Grinding weld

A previous owner of a 39 JD BO felt it a good idea to put a 'spot' of weld on each of the rear wheel nuts and a nice 'row of weld' around the inner portion of the rear rim attached to the shaft....I have no idea why. My question is...any suggestions on how to best remove the 'spots' and 'rows' of weld or is there a great deal of grinding in my future?
Thanks for your knowledge.

Depending on the location, you might have to use a die grinder (pneumatic or electric). I've got a pneumatic type and don't know what I'd do without it. I can get into really tight spots. Must use carbide bit/burrs though, for rapid and safe grinding. Once you use one, you'll never be without one.

I know of only two good ways to remove weld the first is to grind it away the second way is to use a plasma cutter to gouge the weld away. Not sure of the rental possibilities of a plasma cutter so a machine shop may be your best bet.
