Suport the tractor under the bell housing and attch a splitting stand to the frame rails and get all the junk out of the road and unbolt it but do not take the bolts out all the way leave them in the frame rails and the rear engine plat to support the engine and remove the clutch , then take the flywheel off and have it GROUND to spec do not turn it on a lathe becuse it will not get the hard spots out. and replace witha new one or rebuilt. and replace the pilot bearing and throw out bearing if this is not the problem then it is the T/A clutch tha is slipping then ya gotta go deeper.

thanks so much for the advice. the problem this tractor is having is when i get to an incline it stops dead in its tracks. than after 45 seconds or so it takes off again. engine doesn't hesitate one bit, she just stops pulling. than she will run along till the next incline, small or large, it don't matter.
been told it must be a clutch slipping.
changed the fluid, and filter, still doing the same. i will see how this goes. thanks again.

Have you ever tryed to check the clutch adjustment or the T/A linkage? Do you have a IT manual ? if not get one .

thanks tractor vet. my father in law has been trying to help with this and he has my it manual. we still can't figure it out.
when she is rinning we have took off the cap by the dipstick and when she is pulling the fluid flows thru just lickety split, and when it stops pulling it looks like someone sucking a milkshake thru a straw.
do you think that would have anything to do with the clutch???
i have heard there are 2 clutches for this. do you know anything about that?? thanks so much for your help.
