When changing points, the #1 piston has to be at top dead center to set the points , I got spark coming from the magneto but not to the plugs. Can anyone help me?

Set the points to .013" with the rubbing block of the points sitting on the high part of the points cam. #1 TDC is irrelevant for setting the points gap.

If you have good spark coming out of the upper high-tension terminal on the mag (the coil output terminal), but no spark gets to the plugs, the short coil wire could be bad, the mag's "distributor cap" or rotor could be bad OR if you got the little gears that drive the rotor "out of mesh" and, subsequently "out of time" when you were in there, you'll need to get them timed correctly again.

Cut and paste the link to the IH Blue Ribbon Mag Service Manual into your browser... it can't be posted here as a "hot link".

For getting the gears "in time", take a look at page #51.

Once you are sure the gears are timed right, get #1 to tdc, rotate the mag away from the block til it snaps, then your good to go..... .
