What are they asking for it? Last year I could of bought one with only 1000 hours onit for $2500. It looked a little rough so I dragged my feet and someone else got it. A friend of mine bought one, The powershift went on it and I repaired the transmission for him Put $4000 in parts into basically just the powershift part of the transmission. He ran his low on oil, the pumps lost their prime and the transmission paid the price. I told him to take good care of it and make sure he keeps the electrical warning system operational. This is one tractor that you want to make sure the hydraulic filter warning system is operating correctly.

The Massey 2775 is not a bad tractor. If it is a straight gear drive you will be happy with it. If it is the powershift which had the updates put in you should be okay as well. The engine is not the most fuel efficient but that isnt a factor unless you are putting 500 hours a year on it. Make sure you maintain good hydraulic filters and keep the level up to the top. The hydraulic filters are suction type and if the filters are dirty, oil level is too low, or in cold weather with thick oil the hydraulic pumps will pull too great a vacuum and the pump seals will go out. When that happens you are putting the powershift at risk of smoking a clutch pack. They are nice handling tractors.

Hi Jim
I just got your letter, and i wholehartedly agree with you on this model of Massey,
Ive drove them , and when i do i really like them, and of course that 640 Perkin,s,
i know about the filter,s and the trannie,s on these thing,s,
I kinda like the 8 spd better than the powershift cause the powewrshift kinda buck,s when you slide it into the next gear, even if you have low throttle, it still balk,s,
I thought i was gonna get this one not to far away from me but when i look at it, It need,s more than I think the dealer is telling me,
Jim
The 3 point dosnt work, and the lever for the 24 spd was modified to just go back and forth like a directional lever,
the seal on the PTO is leaking, the seat is all messed up with the arm rest falling off the left side,
It,s all dirty with caked on dirt on the side console, and the steering post slider on dash wont hold,
the vinyl padding is about to come off,
it,s missing the headliner,
the fuse box cover is missing, the bolt,s for the duall,s are on floor inside cab, along with the tool box so nobody would steal it,
Other than that,
It run,s good, no smoke, good power, REALLY GOOD BRAKE,S,Need,s a new muffler as the one on it was welded together at the middle, and look,s hideous,
No one know,s where it came from,
and the people in the shop are kinda lax on knowing anything,Or dont care, one , or the other,
Jim, thank,s ever sooo much for helping me out on this, I really appreciate it alot,
I think Ill wait for another 1982 one in better cond,
and then Ill have a peace about it!
I keep wanting to go get it jim,
but then I keep holding off too, thinking to myself that there,s one in better cond someplace else,
I know that you know that story only too well!
Thank,s again for the help,
Kirk,
